Got Colleague?
If you have used TIP screens in the past for information you need for your job, and are eligible to view or update data on Colleague, be prepared to expand your horizons with our new software system. The Student Module teams who have spent months planning, meeting, and working hard to make the transition to Colleague (Datatel) are delighted they can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel—and it isn’t a train! It’s the fast-approaching Colleague end-user training. The academic department secretaries and department chairs were the first group trained, and faculty will be trained at Faculty Seminar Days during breakout sessions on how to access class rosters, class schedules, and enter grades on WebAdvisor. So far we are 170 Colleague users strong, and are adding users and functions on a daily basis. Plans call for the majority of end-users to be trained in Colleague after September 1st.
Diane Krasnewich is assisting the Student Academic Management Team (SAM) with preparing training manuals, a process that involves numerous screenshots and logical, detailed instructions. Please be patient as these manuals are developed and training sessions are scheduled in the near future. If you have any questions on the training or any other aspect of our new Colleague system, including WebAdvisor, please email FIT@muskegoncc.edu and your concerns will be addressed.
In enrollment news, our newly-offered tuition payment plan has over 760 people signed up as of early this week, according to Rosemary Zink. “We’re hopeful that this payment option will help to reduce drops by students who are unable to pay for the semester tuition all at once,” she says.
