FIT NEWS -- July 24, 2007

The Future is HERE!

As of July 1st, the Student Module of our new Colleague software system is live, and it has handled the arduous task of Fall registration with ease.

“Many folks have spent precious time away from their family and friends to make sure we were ready for student registration on July 9th,” says Jean Roberts, Student Services Implementation Team Lead and Director of Registration. “With just the Records Office staff alone, they put in nearly 700 hours of overtime since June – and that doesn’t include the OT hours of the Enrollment Services, Financial Services, or Financial Aid.

“A special thanks needs to go to OIT as well as the Records Office staff, the SAM Team, and the Enrollment Services and AR Teams,” says Roberts.

WebAdvisor logged a staggering 1,751 registrations from July 9th through the 19th – and the problems were minimal, according to staff and faculty.

“Just a quick note of appreciation for all the great work you and your teams have done with the implementation of the online registration system, as well as the other systems that have come online recently,” says Tim Trainor, CIS Instructor. “I made a point of being on campus the last two weeks to help students with problems registering for CIS classes. Very few problems have arisen and those that did come up were easy to solve.”

And although keeping Colleague up-to-date is a continuous process, staff and faculty of MCC can be proud of the fact that WE DID IT!
