Criminal Justice: Posting of degree for conversion.
While working on programs for conversion it was discovered that the ASA Criminal Justice degree was entered several different ways into the Curriculum Code file in TIP depending on who entered this information. How will this degree be converted into Colleague if the code of (900F) is the same but the name changed?
Chris, Jean Lynne, Bob and Al Barreto met to discuss the listing of the Criminal Justice degrees. What is the best way to clean this up and yet be clear for the student?
  • 1998 Associate in Science and Arts – Criminal Justice
  • 2000 Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement
  • 2002 Science and Arts/Criminal Justice
It was determined that the emphasis should be listed as separate degrees.
i.e.: Law Enforcement or Corrections. This will include separate CIP codes and the opportunity to market the different degrees.
   We will now offer:
  1. Associate in Science and Arts – Law Enforcement
  2. Associate in Science and Arts – Corrections
  3. Associate in Applied Science – Law Enforcement
       4.    Associate in Applied Science - Corrections

Compass Testing:
Mary asked when we are going to start entering Compass testing into Colleague. Will the results be entered in TIP or Colleague? When will we do the conversion for Testing? Jean explained that while she and Mary met with Pat Werly regarding the conversion scores from Nelson-Denny into Colleague there has not been a final decision when the conversion will be. Jean advised Mary to meet with George Maniates to address these issues as it is under the Admissions side of the house.

MACRAO:
Bruce Wierda informed the Team Leads members that MACRAO can not be listed as a program on the application because it is not Financial Aid eligible. Discussion ensued regarding listing it as a Certificate, which would still apply towards our “Successful Completion Rate.” Further discussion campus wide will be needed at this time.
