- Ingenta formerly Carl UnCover. Search through thousands of journals for free. Copies of articles may be faxed for a fee.
- MagPortal.com a searchable database of fulltext magazine articles.
- OAIster search for scholarly digital resources from nearly 300 institutions.
- JAKE Searchable database of periodicals. Use this to find out where a magazine or journal is indexed. Also includes information about periodicals' fulltext availability.
- PubList Searchable database of
over 150,000 magazines, journals, newsletters, & other periodicals.
- Movie Review Query Engine A searchable database of over 26,000 movie titles. Reviews appear in magazines, newspapers, and other online sources.
- PubMed Medical Database provided by the National Library of Medicine. Includes MEDLINE and other resources.

- Digital Collections from the University of Washington Libraries. This searchable site offers nearly 40 different image collections from the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and other areas.
- UPI News Pictures contains over 100,000 pictures from the news. They currently are adding about 1,200 new images each month.

- Use FindSounds to search for brief sound effects, musical instrument samples, birds, animals, and a variety of everyday sounds.

- Google News taken from CNN, international newspapers, Associated Press, and other news sources.
- TVEyes a searchable archive of news clips from CNN, Fox, MSNBC and others. The database is created by voice recognition.
